MEET your PHOTOGRAPHER

I'm Cristèle, and I've spent over a decade photographing weddings across Provence, the Luberon, the Alpilles, and the French Riviera. As a South of France wedding photographer, my work sits at the crossroads of fine-art editorial and documentary storytelling - capturing not just how your day looked, but how it felt.

WHY COUPLES CHOOSE the SOUTH of FRANCE for THEIR WEDDING

The South of France is not one place - it is a collection of worlds, each with its own light, its own rhythm, and its own magic.

Provence offers lavender fields in full bloom from late June through July, ancient bastides with honey-coloured stone walls, and a pace of life that makes every moment feel unhurried. Venues like Château d'Estoublon in the Alpilles, La Bastide de Gordes above the Luberon valley, and Domaine de Fontenille near Lauris are among the most photographed estates in France - and for good reason.

The Luberon is where the light turns amber at 7pm and the cicadas fill the silence between toasts. Intimate, private, and deeply romantic, it suits couples who want their wedding to feel like a secret shared only with the people they love most.

The French Riviera and Côte d'Azur bring a different energy - glamorous, luminous, Mediterranean. The sea catches the light in a way that makes every portrait feel effortless. Whether you're marrying in a clifftop villa above Nice or a terraced garden in Saint-Tropez, the backdrop does half the work.

Whatever corner of the South of France you choose, I know its light intimately. I know when to position you, when to step back, and when to simply let the moment unfold.

A FINE ART APPROACH to DESTINATION WEDDINGS

My photography philosophy is simple: beauty and truth, in equal measure.

I don't believe in heavily posed, stiff wedding photography. I believe in the quiet moment between the ceremony and the first dance, when you look at each other and realise it's real. I believe in the way afternoon light falls through a stone archway, and the way your grandmother laughs when she thinks no one is watching.

My style blends:

  • Fine-art editorial composition - thoughtful framing, refined light, images that could grace the pages of a magazine

  • Documentary authenticity - unposed, unscripted, emotionally honest

  • A sensitive, feminine eye - guided by elegance, poetry, and the beauty of real moments

The result is a gallery that feels both timeless and entirely, unmistakably yours.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU WORK
with Cristèle

Planning a destination wedding from abroad can feel overwhelming. My role is to make the photography part of that process feel effortless - from our first conversation to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox.

Here is how the experience works:

I speak French, English, and Spanish - so whether you're a British couple marrying in Provence, an American family celebrating in the Luberon, or a French couple with international guests, communication is always seamless.

SOUTH of FRANCE WEDDING VENUES I KNOW and LOVE

Over a decade of photographing weddings across the region has given me an intimate knowledge of the light, the logistics, and the hidden corners of some of France's most beautiful estates. Venues I have worked at or near include:

If your venue isn't on this list, don't worry - I travel throughout the South of France and beyond. Get in touch and I'll let you know if I've worked there before, or scout it in advance if needed.

A RECENT WEDDING
in SOUTH of FRANCE

“Cristèle was the photographer for our wedding in France in August 2025. Cristèle was so patient and open to understanding our vision even at the last minute as we didn’t give her much on specifics of what we wanted prior to the wedding. She was such a wonderful addition to our day, so encouraging, especially when we were nervous in front of the camera for the couple shoot but was reassuring and helped us to relax and have fun with it all! She was so friendly and kind throughout the day. The photos we received were everything we could have wanted. Absolutely gorgeous and captured the whole day beautifully :)

Thank you so much Cristèle for making our special day even better and for the gorgeous photos!! Xx “
